Hey Coach!

Just wanted to keep you updated, I originally signed up for the Sprint Triathlon. I decided to do my wave with Pat, since he was doing all 3 races...the super sprint, Sprint, and the Olympic distance Triathlon.

First wave was at 6am... we were the first wave in the water. I completed the race with no problems! I thought it was a breeze.... So I was back in the water at 9:12am for the full Olympic distance, I figured why wait another year, I can knock it out with Pat, and I felt great, so I also completed the race. I owe this accomplishment to you because of your swimming training class. I want to thank you for all your coaching and wisdom on getting me to float and paddle my way to the finish line! I actually did good, I felt great when I was passing people up during my wave.

I have found Coach Ryan Riell to be just all around excellent. After my being out of training for 2 years he has been willing to work with me to set up a training plan that works for me where I am at in my fitness and with my hectic life schedule. He is incorporating all the latest in training techniques. We are working on training with power and he has been very adept at setting up a power based work out routine for the bike. I am progressing quickly in all 3 sports under his watch. Ryan has been flexible, knowledgeable, and very quick to respond to any questions or concerns I have had. I have worked with several coaches over the past 7 years and from what I can see Ryan is the best so far. In today's economy his prices can't be beat for what you get. I can't recommend him highly enough! Thanks Ryan!

After researching coaching online, I chose Break Through Multisport with Coach Ryan Riell. He has very flexible plans and tailors them to your needs. I explained my goals to him and he was able to help me find a cost-efficient plan that is allowing me to exceed my goals. I was concerned with online coaching because, when you get lower end plans (Currently I am on the quarterly plan) you usually get very little interaction with the coach, making you feel as if your are just more income. This is not true with Coach Ryan. He always focuses on me when we have time together. Also, when I was recently injured (not due to triathlon) he checked up on me to make sure I was doing well and following doctors orders. He even threatened to take away my workouts online if he had to in order to prevent me from pushing more than I should. (Yes I am Type-A) I will be using Coach Ryan throughout this season and next culminating in my dream race, Ironman Japan. With his help I am not only going to finish, I am going to go beyond my expectations and finish well.  I have no desire to be coached by anyone else. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for the right combination of experience, caring, and that extra push we all occasionally need.

I hired Coach Ryan to prepare me for Ironman Wisconsin and I was definitely prepared both physically and mentally. Training with Break Through Multisport and Coach Ryan definitely made it easier to focus on training and not so much on whether I was training properly. The things that I liked most about working with Coach Ryan is that he is very personable, flexible and he kept me focused on training and not having to worry about extraneous stuff. He knew that I have a new borne child and was able to tailor my training enough to minimize time away from the family. I’ll never forget the experience, thanks for all your help. I’m looking forward to IM Wisconsin in 2009!

Mission Accomplished! Four hours and six minutes (Montrose Beach to Wilson Crib and back). And for some reason I can’t wipe this ear to ear smile off my face. Thank you for all the tips that helped make it possible.

Wanted to drop you a note and say thanks!  Even though I only came to two classes your coaching really helped.  The swim was my weakest but I only stopped twice which is pretty good for me considering I was only making it ladder to ladder at Ohio St.

Ryan is a great coach for triathletes of all levels. I have a full time job and found it difficult to find the time to train. Coach Ryan helped make the process easier by providing customized weekly training plans based on my current strengths and/or weaknesses in swimming, cycling and running. He took my training to the next level by analyzing factors such as levels of fatigue, stress, soreness, heart rates, etc. and made adjustments to my training program accordingly. I have worked with other coaches in the past and Coach Ryan is the best. His dedication to his athletes’ success is remarkable. He has a Jerry Maguire approach of making you feel like you are the only and most important athlete he is working with. He is personable with a great sense of humor – so if you like having fun while training hard, Coach Ryan is your guy. From helping me fix things on my bike to lending me his bento box for a race, Ryan takes “coaching” to the next level.

This was my first year participating in triathlons. I competed in the Accenture Chicago Triathlon, my first olympic distance, second ever triathlon, and was the 22nd female overall and qualified to compete in the Elite Amateur Competition at the 2008 event. I owe a large part of my success to Coach Ryan and look forward to working with him again in 2008! So whether your goal is to compete in your first triathlon or qualify for Kona, Coach Ryan will get you there.
